Pig out this half term at Monkey Haven

Halloween is one of our favourite times of the year – and this October half term, the Keepers have come up with a ‘zombie pig’ theme, as a tribute to rescue monkey Djimmy’s treasured toy pig.

The crazy concept is that throughout the week, that runs from Saturday 20th October to Sunday 28th October, Djimmy’s plastic pigs will ‘come alive’ to trick and treat our visitors. Staff will be in fancy dress, and the Keeper talks will be given by zombie pigs. There’s loads going on – you won’t be boar-ed!

We’ll be holding a spooktacular raffle with all proceeds going towards Djimmy and the other primates, with pig-tastic prizes from the Garlic Farm, Cineworld, and suppliers for our shop including Allsorted books and stationery. You’ll want to hog the lot!

We will also be holding a second hand book sale, to support our awesome Owls and other birds like noisy Kookie.

Xhabu’s tea room will be offering a Zombie-Shake and other Halloween treats. You can make a pig of yourself, happy in the knowledge that all proceeds will go to the rescued animals.

Plus there will be piggy themed face painting and glitter tattoos.

We’ll also have the Isle of Wight Bat Hospital flying in, with their adorable rescued creatures.

So come and join us for our crazy Halloween – our piggest and best yet!
